Index contracts are quarterly (March, June, September, December); oil contracts (US Oil and Brent) are monthly. Each contract runs until its expiry date, and the next one opens about a week before the current one expires.
At expiry, positions still open on the old contract are closed automatically. To stay in the market, close and reopen on the new contract before the expiry date.
Dates are in Beirut time. The exact time of day is in MetaTrader 5, in the symbol's Details.

Index contracts use only H, M, U and Z: March, June, September and December.
The fixed spreads are on the futures contracts: the Dow Jones (DJ30) 2 points, the Nasdaq (US100) 1.75 points, US oil (USOil) and Brent (UKOil) 2¢ a barrel. Spreads on other instruments can change quickly.
It is the version of an index or a commodity that runs until a set date. In MetaTrader 5 its symbol ends with a month code and the year: US100_Z26 is the Nasdaq contract for December 2026. Index contracts are quarterly, so their codes are H, M, U and Z; oil contracts are monthly. The plain name, such as USOil, is a chart only and cannot be traded.
Positions still open on the old contract are closed automatically at the expiry time. To stay in the market, close them and reopen on the new contract before the expiry date. The new contract opens about a week earlier, so there is time to switch.
Search for the instrument's name, for example US100, and pick the symbol that ends with the month code and the year, such as US100_Z26 — not the plain name. Its expiry date is in the symbol's Details.
No. Indices, oil and other commodities have no storage fee: they are futures contracts with an expiry date.
